MEMORANDA 2025

We watched fireworks on the alps flare,
Skied with family and friends who now live there

Grandparents and friends came to visit this year,
We hope you know we love having you here

Matt is trying to keep up with the times,
Teaching design in the age of AI

He writes about that and his music on Substack,
In 2026 he’ll get the band back

Julia launched Rootstock berry club,
Expanded to all sorts of produce we love

She’s working with Empowered By Light,
And seeking ways to protect earth’s life

On Spring Break we tried something new,
Divide and conquer two by two

Ev and Mum played volleyball on a Mexican beach,
Dad and Anabel walked the New York streets

We take some time to slow down,
We look back on another year of adventure
Try to slow down

Julia made a New York visit,
to meet her sister it’s a yearly trip

Matt met his brother outside of Chicago,
With Jeff they caught a nostalgic rock show

We stopped in Constantinople before,
We explored the land where lions roar

We had a Euro Thanksgiving invasion,
We stuffed ourselves with joy and celebration

Anabel did a Channel Island expedition,
She’s looking forward to this year’s edition

She and her soccer team won medals to display,
Always hanging with friends—finding new ways to play

Evelyn likes being the first to rise,
Works on high school applications before sunrise

Her team moved up to the ECNL division,
Mall runs and baking are a weekly tradition

In a world that keeps speeding up,
We take some time to slow down
In a world that is speeding up,
We take some time to write Memoranda
And we want you to know

We love you
